############################################################## ## MadWeight ## ############################################################## ## author: ## ## olivier.mattelaer@uclouvain.be ## ## pierre.artoisenet@uclouvain.be ## ############################################################## ## Update are in time inverse order ## ############################################################## 15/09/11: 2.5.15 (OM) - modify clean.py - the verif_event will not anymore modify the number of events if the number of selected evens are below the number of wanted events. This will create some additional warning but it allows to run correctly in case of multiple final-states. (However see note of 2.5.14 about such type of generation) - debug the gauss_on_lepton transfer functions (Thanks to Michele) - debug the choice of change of variable in presence of neutrino not coming from a decay (Thanks to Chad Shur) 12/08/11: 2.5.14 (OM) - change the collect_result.py (Thanks Rogier) - allow to define the output format. (Changing this will not allow to run the plot) - add a smart collect for the weight in case of multiple final states. This type of run is still NOT officially supported. If you try those, please be carefull about the following points: Note: in this case, the output format need to be change for example to weight_format '%(card)s\t%(event)s\t%(lhco_event)s\t%(value)s\t%(error)s\n' Note2: The cross-section normalisation will be the full cross-section in all case This is NOT correct. -> So don't use the normalize output if you have different final states Note3: For process with generic leptons, the Subprocess directory might be only for electron. In that case, all the events with muon might be throw away. - weight result will not mix events in case of different final states in different subprocesses (assuming that they have a different number in the lhco file). Nevertheless the normalization by the cross-section need to be done by hand in this case. 15/07/11: 2.5.13 (OM) - include PBS in the list of supported cluster. (Thanks to NiKHEF) - add a PBS option for the maximum number of submitted jobs. - add possibility to add option at submission for qsub - fix a problem with string option with space 07/07/11: 2.5.12 (OM) - correct a bug forbidding to use MW with spin 2 06/07/11: 2.5.11 (OM) - correct a bug which was forbiding to define Transfer function for MET. Note that those type of Transfer Functions are STRONGLY discouraged. (PA) - Modify the Multi-channel weight. this should slightly improve the speed of the integration. 28/06/11:v 2.5.10 (OM) - correct a bug for the f77 compiler (it was working fine with gfortran) 19/07/10:v2.5.9(.2) (OM/PA) - correct multi-channel inconsistencies for HWW (OM/PA) - new driver (OM/PA) - debug nevents which was not update correctly (OM/PA) - change default TF (OM/PA) - change likelihood computation behavior in case of zero result 11/06/10:v2.5.8 (0M) - authorizes /, tab and comment in the proc_card (thanks to A. Sznajder) (OM) - add a security to avoid to reach integer size limit (thanks to A. Sznajder) (OM) - authorizes to define run name from the MadWeight_card (OM) - add a test suite to test MW for more stability (OM/PA) - correct a bug in data.inc introduces in 2.5.6 (made wrong tt-semi leptonic) 04/06/10:v2.5.7 (OM) - cleaner driver.f (OM) - add control on the BW-cut. (Thanks to Ayres) (OM) - Change the MadWeight_Card format (still support old format) 24/04/10:v2.5.6 (OM) - put the mw_gen outside of the MadWeight_card (OM) - debug detection of grid divergencies (OM/PA) - add security for class e 20/04/10:v2.5.5 (OM) - debug data.inc for class c (causes wrong number for class c) (JA) - Conformed to new MadEvent standard, where nexternal is no longer included from genps.inc (OM) - Inclusion to possibility to run in multicore (cluster number 4) (thanks to Erdogan/Gokhan) 04/10:v2.5.4 (OM) - add an option to avoid to write events by events histogram in histogram mode - correct shift of one bin in the histogram mode - optimization of file reading 24/02/10:v2.5.3 (OM) - debug a option problem for pt cut in jet/bjet 27/01/10:v2.5.2 (OM) - debug decay in invisible particle - add a new condor cluster class 30/10/09:v2.5.1 (OM) - correction of multi-channel weight when they are two identical (for the point of view of aligned peaks) - correction of data.inc when they ar no visible particule - suppress multi-channel peaks associated to T channel - correct blob detection in T-channel (not detected if the blob start with a unaligned peaks) - correct cross-section normalization factor when the cuts are desactivated 16/10/09:v2.5.0 (OM) - New techniques of integration using the multi-channel techniques. All the changes of variables are now used (with weighting techniques) in order to evalute the integrals. This techniques is more stable and faster than the techniques used before. - Change in MadWeight Analyzer in order to produce some "less" optimazed change of variable, those one fastenize the integration in this new techniques. - Add some weight for the different channel corresponding to incompatible peaks. This is used in the multi-channel techniques ans fastenize and stabelize the integration. - New format for the transfer functions, pass to an xml format. This also comes with a new way to treat transfer function computation which is more clear and marginally faster. adding the possibility to have a transfer function on missing ET, and on any type of particles. - Fix the pointless warning in ./bin/PassToMadWeight.py. - Change default value for integration optimization in order to be adapted to the new situation. - inclusion of an (optional) automatic computation of the acceptance term (computed with Pythia/PGS) the cut selection use the verif_event module of MW. this is activated via the MadWeight_card.dat In order to compute the acceptance term, you need a special version of the Pythia-pgs directory (See the wiki) (OM+AP) - Inclusion of a new module for the differential graph. This module is still in beta, and need some hardcoding in order to be used. Please contact olivier.mattelaer@uclouvain.be if you want to use this tool at this stage. More information will appear on the wiki when this module will be fully public. mod_file: list too long (more than 70 files modify or added or deleted) ################ Pass to SubVersion 2.5 introducing Multi-channel//Acceptance_term//Histogram ########################## 22/09/09:v2.2.7 (OM) - first modification in order to use "real" division (for future compatibility with Python3) - collect change automaticaly the number of events if the number of event generated is lower than the expected 10/09/09:v2.2.6(OM) - debug single machine mode. - separation between control and status option status: print the numbre of idle, running, finish job control: do the same, and launch new job on the cluster when it should be control should not be call on different shell, status can. - solve an additional problem with b permutation. 23/07/09:v2.2.5(OM) - improve detection of overtrained grid (less false positive) - fix uncorrect way to call block a - correct typo 26/06/09:v2.2.4(OM) - add auto-refine for cross-section computation - modification for LHAPDF compatibility The usage of LHAPDF and MW in the same time is far to be garanteed for the moment. 09/06/09:v2.2.3(OM) - compatibility with gfortran - authorize run without any events - debug case sensitivity in input.lhco file - debug the recover of overtrained grid (if some weight=0 or if fortran write input in 2 different line - debug jet/bjet ordering - modify mod_file.py 22/05/09:v2.2.2(OM) - debug the way to combine iteration for ME (thanks to A.
